My Year in Review: 2022

Year 2022 was a less productive year for me in terms of blogging, as I only managed to write two articles, both of which were about remote work (🇬🇧) and running (🇮🇩). This was an unexpected result for me, as I had hoped to be more productive and to write more articles on a variety of topics. Despite this, I learned a lot about remote work and running, and I was able to share my insights with others through my articles.

Superball Run 2022 - Jakarta

This post is my annual blog post about what happened in my life in 2022. I hope we can learn something from this year experiences.

January

Starting the new year with positive activities such as running, cycling, and volunteering can be a great way to set a positive tone for the year ahead. Exercise is not only good for your physical health, but it can also have a positive impact on your mental health and well-being.

I started the first day of this year with running 22 km to celebrate the new year. I commited to make a new habit: running half marathon at least once a month.

At work we emphasized again on the importance of following remote-work communication protocol which prioritize written documentation both in dedicated work chat tools and in project management tools. I've been very strict about this rule and never hesitate to fire team members who can't get along.

In the first week of this year I checked one item from my bucket list: cycling Bandung-Jakarta-Bandung. In the first day I cycled from Bandung to Jakarta via Puncak, and I really enjoyed it. Then in the second day I cycled back from Jakarta to Bandung via Purwakarta. Unfortunately, I didn't finish the last 17 km because it was raining so hard, the road was too dark, and there were still a lot of big trucks. I hope I can repeat this trip again in the future with better conditions.

Volunteering is another great way to start the year off on a positive note. By giving back to your community and helping others, you can feel a sense of purpose and fulfillment that can carry over into other areas of your life.

This month I returned to volunteer in Kelas Inspirasi Lombok. It was amazing experience and it's always good to catchup with old friends who are also passionate in education volunteering.

Engaging in physical activity like running or cycling can help you feel more energized, boost your mood, and reduce stress and anxiety. This month I also managed to cycle around Lombok and visited Mandalika beach by bike. I was a great experience!

Whether you choose to run a half-marathon, go on a cycling adventure, or volunteer at a local charity, starting the year off with positive activities can help set the stage for a happy and fulfilling year.
