Aal izz well… aal izz well! 🎶
Okay, 3 Idiots is hands down one of the best Bollywood movies I’ve ever seen—no contest! This drama-comedy masterpiece has racked up tons of awards in India and even broke records as the highest-grossing Bollywood movie at the time. Fun fact: this is only the second Indian movie I’ve actually finished watching (Slumdog Millionaire was the first). Rare, right? Bollywood usually isn’t my thing. 😜
The movie follows three engineering students:
- Rancho, the genius who’s passionate about mechanical engineering.
- Farhan, stuck in engineering because his parents won’t let him pursue photography.
- Raju, a poor kid carrying the weight of his family’s hopes and dreams.
Their journey is full of laughs, lessons, and some pretty heavy moments—like when Raju attempts suicide under intense pressure. Then there’s Prof. ViruS, the strict dean who’s the epitome of “old-school” education.
Memorable moments? So many!
- When Farhan finally tells his parents he wants to follow his dream of becoming a photographer.
- When the trio prioritizes friendship over exams, staying by Raju’s father’s side in the hospital.
- And who could forget the legendary prank where Rancho electrocutes a senior during hazing—with pee! 😂 “Salt water is a great conductor of electricity. 8th standard physics. We all studied it; he applied it!” Genius.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Bollywood without its signature tropes: over-the-top drama, a love story, and a dance sequence. (Pro tip: this is your nap break. 😴)
But here’s the magic of 3 Idiots: it’s more than entertainment. The movie is packed with powerful lessons about passion, pressure, and finding your path—whether you’re a student, parent, or teacher. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t wait! My rating? 9.5/10. Totally worth it!
